How the Game Works
Plusminus is a turn-based card game. Players take turns playing value cards to add points to the playing field or action cards to disrupt the game and surprise their opponents.
The real twist comes from the Plusminus die:
- Roll a “+” and the player with the highest score wins
- Roll a “-” and the player with the lowest score wins
This simple mechanic makes every decision matter and ensures tension until the final roll.
Action Cards: The Fun Factor
Action cards are at the heart of Plusminus and create hilarious moments around the table:
- Plusminus cards – a 50% chance to change the goal of the game
- Swap hand cards – two players exchange their entire hand
- Swap places cards – players physically swap seats (a favourite with kids)
- +3 cards – draw extra cards to speed up the game
- Cage and Escape from Cage cards – cancel or restore the value of cards
